Description
The DENON AH-D9200 is Denon's flagship closed-back, wired over-ear headphone, with ear cups made of Japanese bamboo and a 50 mm nano-fiber FreeEdge driver tuned for the bamboo housing.
Driver
A 50 mm nano-fiber diaphragm with a roll-edge (FreeEdge) suspension and a neodymium magnet.
Housing and Build
The ear cups are made of moso bamboo grown in Kochi Prefecture. The hanger is lightweight aluminum die-cast with a click-stop adjuster and scale markings. The ear pads use Denon's in-house synthetic leather, rated at roughly twice the durability of common synthetic leather, with three-dimensional stitching and shape-memory foam.
Cables
Two detachable cables are included: a 3.0 m silver-coated OFC cable with a 6.3 mm standard stereo plug, and a 1.3 m OFC cable with a 3.5 mm stereo mini plug. Both have a cloth-wrapped outer sheath and machined aluminum plug sleeves. The headphone side uses two 3.5 mm mono mini plugs.
Handcrafted in Japan
According to Denon, the bamboo housings are produced in Kochi Prefecture, and all parts are assembled, inspected and packed by dedicated staff at Denon's Shirakawa Audio Works.
