Description
The OYAIDE BR-12 is a 5 mm butyl rubber turntable mat with a tapered surface. It combines the mortar-shaped taper of Oyaide's MJ-12 with the rubber of the BR-ONE, and adds tungsten particles for vibration damping. A stroboscope and an overhang gauge are included.
Vibration Damping and Grip
The butyl rubber is blended with tungsten particulates to absorb unwanted turntable vibration. The rubber surface grips the record and reduces slippage, including under high tracking force.
Tapered Surface
A 1.0° taper toward the center hole is designed to press warped records flat against the mat. Eighteen tuning holes on the taper also serve as finger-hook grooves, and the rounded outer edge and 294 mm diameter make the mat easy to remove from the platter.
Easy to Fit
At 5 mm, the mat is the same thickness as many stock mats, so tonearm height usually needs no adjustment.
Included Accessories
A PP-coated paper stroboscope (33/45/78 rpm, 50/60 Hz) and an overhang gauge (5 to 30 mm).
