Description

The SONY PS-LX5BT is a fully automatic belt-drive turntable with a built-in phono equalizer and a Bluetooth transmitter. It plays 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records, and can also record them to a computer over USB.

Playback

Press one button and the turntable handles start, tonearm return and stop automatically. The belt-drive platter is a 296mm die-cast aluminum platter, covered by a heavier, thicker rubber mat. The J-shaped tonearm uses an aluminum pipe, and the headshell is reinforced. The installed MM cartridge has a bonded round stylus and a light tracking force of 2.0 g (±0.5 g).

Built-in Phono EQ and Wired Output

The built-in MM phono equalizer has a PHONO/LINE switch and a three-step gain selector (Low -4 dB / Mid 0 dB / High +6 dB), so the turntable can connect directly to amplifiers and powered speakers without a PHONO input, or to an external phono preamp. The gold-plated RCA output terminals accept a replaceable audio cable.

Bluetooth Wireless Playback

As a Bluetooth transmitter, the PS-LX5BT sends audio wirelessly to speakers, headphones and soundbars. It supports SBC, aptX and aptX Adaptive, with Hi-Res Wireless Audio (up to 96kHz/24bit) when used with an aptX Adaptive-compatible receiver. It also connects automatically to Bluetooth speakers when playback starts.

USB Recording

A USB Type-B (USB 2.0) port lets you record your records to a PC.
